Fotos & Recuerdos Festival

For the past two years, Lil’ Libros and the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery have proudly presented the Fotos & Recuerdos Festival Celebrating “The Life of / La vida de” Book Series.

A wonderful event for people of all ages, Fotos & Recuerdos provided a fun and engaging way for hundreds of attendees in the Washington DC area to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Smithsonian galleries and learn about the Latinx icons that have paved the way. Visitors enjoyed gallery tours, storytimes, book signings, and arts & crafts inspired by the Lil' Libros book series which features Latinx sitters from the Portrait Gallery's collection.

Fotos & Recuerdos Festival Event Campaign

The marketing for this campaign was a healthy mix between the colorful characters of the Lil’ Libros book series and the more serious portrait images and voice of the Smithsonian. Marketing for this event included two newsletters, three weeks of social media posts & stories, a dedicated page on the Lil’ Libros Learning Portal website with activities, print & digital advertisements for El Tiempo and The Washington Post, press releases in English and Spanish, an engaging presentation for 300+ local students, and custom assets for an interactive photo booth that resulted in a gif and a printout.
